Scott Silver Managing Partner, Senior Financial StrategistScott’s passion to help families and businesses establish a solid financial foundation is rooted in his own personal journey. As a young entrepreneur, he came to understand the challenges of managing the growth of a business alongside the needs of an individual and family. Throughout his over 20 years of helping small businesses owners, Scott’s commitment has been to listen to his client’s needs throughout various stages of their life and business cycles. His own childhood has served as a backdrop of understanding as to how life can move in different stages, as he has resided in various international and domestic locations throughout his life. While helping business owners has been a large focus of Scott’s practice, he has also developed an expertise in the physician market. Here, Scott is able to integrate the unique financial and protection needs of medical professionals alongside other concerns such as the structuring of a contract or general practice management. Again, his childhood experience of growing up with a father in the medical community has given Scott deeper insights into this groups needs and objectives. His ability to understand both opportunities and challenges has brought him forward as a recognized speaker in this, as well as other, marketplaces. As a result of his experience in the medical community, seeing first had how families with special needs have unique concerns and challenges, Scott developed a secondary focus in helping these families with their financial objectives. Joe Halpern Partner, Chief Investment OfficerAt Fountainhead Advisors, Joe Halpern is Chief Investment Officer and a vital resource for managing clients’ investments. He brings to the role more than 20 years of experience working in senior positions at well known investment firms in the industry, including the American Stock Exchange where he was an Options Specialist and risk manager; ING where he managed a portfolio on behalf of the bank as well as engineered strategies for the worldwide client base of the bank; and at Lehman Brothers post-bankruptcy, where he was responsible for unwinding a large, complex portfolio. Joe is a trusted and invaluable member of Fountainhead who brings a deep, institutional level knowledge of capital markets and product structure. His extensive background in portfolio management and investment strategies is an integral part of the team’s discussions on overall asset allocation and performance analytics.
Robert Klotz Partner, Chief Operating OfficerRobert grew up in Old Bridge, in central New Jersey, where he terrorized the neighborhood on his Big Wheel. He graduated from Red Bank Catholic and went to work for a series of Fortune 500 companies. At Grainger, Robert honed the operational skills he now uses to make constant refinements to the Fountainhead client experience. He takes pride in making clients’ path to success as clear and direct as possible. In their free time, Robert and his wife love to restore old homes to greatness.
Robert Renshaw, CFP®Senior Financial Strategist, Compliance OfficerBob’s background in the financial services industry spans over 20 years. Bob began his career in corporate finance, developing financial planning and merger & acquisitions modeling strategies for Fortune 500 companies. He left the corporate world in order to explore his interest in working more closely with individuals, families and small business owners. He built further upon his background in accounting from Montclair State University by becoming a Certified Financial Planner® in . As a Senior Financial Strategist at Fountainhead Advisors, Bob assumes the role of quarterback in his clients’ financial lives, understanding their unique stories and creating the right strategies to achieve their goals. He also believes in educating his clients through each step of the process, in a transparent and easy to understand manner.
Gaetano Sacco, RICP®, Senior Financial AdvisorWith over a decade of experience in financial planning, Gaetano brought his practice to Fountainhead Advisors in 2019 to expand capabilities and services for his clients. Sharing the independent philosophy of building a custom plan to fit each client’s personal story, Gaetano organically melds with the core of Fountainhead. He continues to operate as a fiduciary and designs creative planning strategies, while maintaining focus on long-term relationships with clients, many of whom are great friends. Gaetano’s professional passion and purpose is to help people feel good about planning for their future. With an intentional focus on listening, he seeks to first understand your personal story, before providing professional advice or strategy. When working with Gaetano, he will help you to determine your goals and identify financial risks, ultimately creating a custom allocation strategy for your wealth. Collaborating with clients (and many times your tax and legal advisors), Gaetano and his team can address your broad range of financial concerns, including retirement, protection, and estate legacy planning. As a proud graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, Gaetano continues his charitable support for Penn State’s “THON”, fundraising for pediatric cancer. He believes in giving back to the community and is involved with various non-profit organizations in the tri-state area. Most recently, he joined the Board of Directors for the Robinson Center for Learning, a non-profit providing specialized behavioral therapy for children with autism. Eric’s professional expertise is well complemented by his strong passion to serve in the best interests of his clients across all of their financial needs. This includes getting to the root of what they need most to enjoy financial security and flexibility, and building completely customized solutions as a result. Throughout this process is a strong commitment that Eric makes to service each client to the same level at which he would apply to himself. Wes Yamada Senior Financial StrategistWes Yamada joined Fountainhead Advisors in 2018 as a Senior Financial Strategist. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Wes entered the banking industry immediately after graduating from UC Irvine in 2007. His experience through all levels of the bank culminated with his role as a Financial Advisor. It was in this role that Wes found his niche by combining his love of analytical planning with a strong sense of client advocacy. While he enjoyed success in his career, he was driven to create a closer ongoing relationship with his clients, outside the traditional framework that a large firm allows. In 2013, Wes joined Eric Furstner to jointly provide the expertise and planning principles at the core of his approach. Today, Wes and Eric represent Fountainhead’s investment philosophy out of the San Francisco office. Throughout his career, Wes has carried with him the lessons he learned during childhood. His father owned his own business and always stressed the importance of planning with the end in mind. Wes took this mindset and decided to focus his practice on what he believes are the two most important transition periods of a financial life – young professionals building a solid foundation for their family and pre-retirees developing a plan to maximize income while ensuring longevity of their assets. He also has depth of expertise counseling clients who work in the tech industry, helping them navigate and protect the benefits that come with a career in tech, including stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs) and acquisitions.
Bryce Bednorz Financial StrategistAs a self-driven student of the history of finance, Bryce Bednorz got his first full-time job in financial services while only a junior at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Since that time, Bryce has developed an expertise in applying his quantitative background and knowledge to the analysis and construction of client portfolios. At Fountainhead Advisors, Bryce’s position as a Financial Strategist includes a role on the firm’s Investment Committee, where his input helps shapes the firm’s economic and market outlooks into strategies that can best be applied for individual client portfolios. On an individual client level, Bryce applies both a qualitative and quantitative review to portfolios to provide an accurate overview of their current situation, as well as identify the most appropriate recommendations and observations. A strong communicator with an easygoing Midwestern manner, Bryce excels at taking complex financial topics and presenting them in an cohesive, approachable language that clients can easily understand. His goal is for clients to fully understand their financial decisions, which he strongly believes leads to better long term investor behavior.
Shafaq Presswala Financial StrategistShaf Presswala joined the Fountainhead team in 2018. Shaf’s family emigrated to the U.S. from India in 1994 and settled in Maryland. Today Shaf is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Raised among a family of doctors, Shaf took an early interest in medicine and it soon became her passion. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), she went on to get her master’s in biotechnology and bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins. She worked as a scientist in genomic research for 12 years, with a focus on finding a cure for cancer. Searching for a way to have a more direct and personal impact on people’s lives, Shaf dove into volunteering with the Red Cross, and became EMT-certified. She also began driving for an ambulance company, transporting critically ill patients. As an EMT, Shaf began to have more and more personal, heartfelt conversations with patients and their families. She was humbled by the many stories she heard from people who were facing catastrophic health events with virtually no financial resources in place to cover the astronomical costs. So Shaf decided to make a bold career move and shift to financial planning. With her extensive knowledge of healthcare and a longtime fascination with finance, she is well-positioned to help families structure their finances in a way that better prepares them for the unexpected. Shaf currently serves clients that include physicians, pharmacists and others in the medical field, as well as clients within the tech industry.
Patrick Law Financial StrategistPatrick is a native of the Garden State. His family has lived in Morris County for over 75 years. His younger years were divided between the woods of northern New Jersey and the beaches of southern California. He studied Fine Art Media at the Tufts University School of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston and at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. When not in the office, as an avid outdoorsman, you will catch Patrick involved with conservation work, helping on his family farm, or generally “hiking around”. Much like his views on the layers of nature, Patrick strives to help others navigate a clear path through the complexity of their “financial forest”.
Scott Clements Senior Financial StrategistScott began his career in the financial services industry over 25 years ago where he built a specialized knowledge in company sponsored retirement plans. In working with employees of various companies, Scott decided to directly support the financial needs of individuals, families and business owners by becoming a financial advisor. In this capacity he found a desire to work in a partnership approach, and provide the most objective advice possible to clients. It was this desire that led him to Fountainhead Advisors. Continuing his industry specific education, Scott became an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, which certifies his ability to follow a fiduciary process with his clients’ best interests at heart. Scott focuses on gaining an understanding of the unique experiences of his clients while implementing strategies for those clients to achieve their specific goals.
